hi all
Given the severe race-drought around Gauteng this weekend (except for Saturday morning's Salomon 10km trail run in Krugersdorp) we've decided to go for a long-ish slow training run at Northern Farm (http://www.northernfarm.co.za/index.html) on Sunday morning.
The venue gives you the option of a fairly easy, undulating +-25km loop around the perimeter of the farm, plus a few extra smaller loops if you need more (or less).
We plan to start our +- 3 hour run around 9:30, so we should be finished just before lunchtime. The previous time we were there, the venue had hotdogs etc for sale for lunch, but I think you can also bring & braai your own.
If you have nothing special planned for Sunday morning, why not join us? Its a nice run out of the busy city - just keep an eye out for the mountain bikers on the downhills!

| It sounds great, not sure how I will feel after the Mountain Race helpers run on Saturday, but maybe can do with a double session. Must try out my new Camelback! |

Yesterdays slow training run turned out to be most enjoyable - approx 21km of great jeeptrack and trail out in the veld. Although we were only four running together (as well as two other runners - not sure if they were from the Odyssey clan?) we had a great time. One of our group had a GPS and we could eventurally measure the route properly. The complete route (which we still need to find as we always miss the last turn leading to the additional 2km loop) is apparently 23km and not 25km.
We were somewhat late for the boerries afterwards, but could still get bacon and eggs, and with a couple of beers to round it off, we drove back to Pta very content with the days accomplishment.
See ya on the road. |
